All of the children were still at home in 1840. At some time between 1840-1850 the Haynes family moved from Talbot Co, GA to Walker Co, GA Smith W Haynes was a fortunate drawer in the 1827 Land Lottery from Monroe Co, GA He received parcel 164 in Muscogee County in Turner's District. The parcel was in part of the county that became Talbot Co, and later Taylor Co. Smith Haynes and Martha Towler married ca 1817 probably in Morgan Co, GA as that is where Martha's mother was living in that year. ......................................... NOTES ON PARENTS AND SIBLINGS OF MARTHA TOWLER HAYNES Martha Towler Hayne's parents were James A Towler and Martha [probably Johnson] both born in Virginia [according to daughter Martha's 1880 census statement on location of birth of parents]. James A Towler died 1803 in Lincoln Co, GA. Martha [Johnson ] Towler moved to Morgan Co, GA ca 1813 and lived there till she died in 1845. According to censuses she was born between 1760-1770. NOTES ON PARENTS AND SIBLINGS OF SMITH W HAYNES There were also Haynes families in Morgan Co, GA in 1820 but have not connected Smith W Haynes to any of them yet. Smith W Haynes had at least 1 brother: John Haynes born in 1800 who married a woman named Ann. He moved to Walker Co, Ga before 1840 and was still living in Walker Co, Ga in 1860. John Hayne's known children were: W Patrick H Haynes b ca 1831; John K S Haynes b ca 1836; Virgil H Haynes b 1845; Martha A Haynes b ca 1855; and one unnamed daughter born ca 1825. The initials on some of these names could possibly be erroneous. They were difficult to read. There were 2 other Haynes that were possibly brothers of Smith W and John Haynes: They were Samuel and William. Samuel was on the 1830 census for Talbot Co, GA and a William Haynes was on some documents for Talbot Co in the 1830s but not on the census. He in fact could be some other relation [or not even related], perhaps a father. Samuel was born [according to the 1830 Talbot Co, GA census] between 1800-1810. There were some documents in Talbot Co, Ga during the 1830s that lists a John Haynes as JP [Justice of the Peace]. The parents of Smith W and John Haynes remains unkown [to me]. ............................................... Any one who connects with this family please contact me. Especially interested in Smith [born 1822]; Elmina [b 1837]; and Lavinda [b 1833]. As to the unidentified females, anyone who has female Haynes in their ancestry [for whom you do not yet know the parents] and who married between the years of 1840-1850 in the areas of Talbot/Walker/Whitfield/Catoosa Counties in GA or in other counties in the general vicinity, let me hear from you. That would be the 4 unidentified females in the family of Smith W Haynes and Martha Towler Haynes as well as the unidentified daughter of John Haynes and Ann, born ca 1825 in GA
