He married Elizabeth Henry Marshall b. 8 Mar 1800 Warren County, GA d. 3 Jun 1854 Talbot County, GA, daughter of Capt. Stephen Marshall and Elizabeth Burt Marshall. (Putnam County, Georgia Marriage Records: 1808-1850) Peter was the son of Peter and Mary Ann Flournoy Mahone from Virginia. He and his brothers, Rowland Mahone and Thomas N. Mahone were pioneer settlers of Talbot before 1827. Mahone's mill was on Lazer Creek. It was operated by 3 generations of Mahones. It was at Belleview, Talbot County, GA. [Rockaway in Talbot: Travels in an Old Georgia County Vol. I-IV ] It is believed that he served in the 1836 Indian War, possibly leading a company of men from Talbot County, in pursuing the Indians across the Chattahoochee River into Alabama. She married Cincinnatus Decatur Crittenden b. 11 Aug 1815 Baldwin County, GA d. 1889 Newton, Dade County, AL., son of Robert Greene Crittenden and Nancy "Ann" Crowder Crittenden. Emaline Amanda Marshall Crittenden and Cincinnatus Decatur Crittenden had 12 children. 3. Gen. Tilman Henry Mahone (Civil War) b. 1 Apr 1823 Talbot County, GA d. 11 Jul 1877 Talbot County, GA. He married Evaline Elizabeth Garrard b. 30 Apr 1826 Putnam County, GA d. 27 Jun 1885 Talbot County, GA, daughter of William Garrard and Mary Roquemore Garrard. Tilman Henry Mahone and Evaline Garrard Mahone had 9 children. 4. Peter Flournoy Mahone, Jr., 15 Sep 1825 Talbot County, GA d. 16 Dec 1888 Talbot County, GA. He married first Mary Ann Garrard b. 6 Oct 1827 Talbot County, GA d. 6 Oct 1852 Putnam County, GA, daughter of William Garrard and Mary Roquemore Garrard, on 25 Nov 1845 in Putnam County, GA. The children of Peter Flournoy Mahone, Jr., Mary Ann Garrard were: Tilman Henry Mahone, Mary Taylor McDowell, and Elizabeth Frances Mahone Turner. The second marriage was to Elizabeth Jordan Waller on 3 May 1853 in Putnam County, GA. The children of Peter Flournoy Mahone, Jr., Elizabeth Jordan Waller were: Martha "Mattie" C. Mahone Brooks, Peter Flournoy Mahone III, and William Perry Mahone. 5. Caroline Elizabeth Mahone b. 5 Nov 1828 Talbot County, GA d. 19 May 1909. She married Joel Jordan ReeseJr., 15 Oct 1828 d. 2 Jun 1882 Schley County, GA, son of Joel Reese and Anna Stinson Reese. Caroline Elizabeth Mahone and Joel Jordan Reese had 6 children. 6. Martha M. Mahone b. 28 Feb 1831 d. 13 Jun 1862. She married Henry Jones 7. Corp. Marshall Burt Mahone (Civil War) b. 12 Jun 1833 d. 1 Nov 1884 Talbot County, GA 8.
