McCRARY[1], M. Born on 18 Apr 1832.[1] George A. died on 31 Jul 1864, he was 32.[1] 15. Matthew Thornton McCRARY[1], M. Born on 16 Jun 1833.[1] Matthew Thornton died on 8 Dec 1881, he was 48.[1],[5] Buried in McCrary-Cox Family Cemetery.[5] Matthew joined the Confederate States of America "Talbot Guards" when the company was organized 6-11-1861, as 2d Sergeant. He was elected Junior 2d Lt. in 9-1861. He was captured at Gettysburg in 7-2-1863, after which he was imprisoned at Johnson's Island, Ohio. He received parole and forwarded to Point Lookout, Maryland for exchange, 3-14-1865. He was received at Boulware & Cox Wharves, James River, Virginia, 3-22-1865.[1] abt 1875 when Matthew Thornton was 41, he first married Lezina Jane FOSTER[1],[6], F, daughter of Robert FOSTER Jr., M (1824->1880) & Nancy A. CLEMENTS, F (1824-1878), in Talbot Co., Ga.[6] Born on 7 Dec 1848 in Talbot County, Georgia. Lezina Jane died in Talbot Co., Georgia on 8 Mar 1930, she was 81. Buried in Talbotton Cemetery, Talbot Co., Ga. They had one child: 37 i. Eddie T., F (1875-1942) On 18 Nov 1869 when Matthew Thornton was 36, he second married Rachel H. WEATHERS[1], F.[1] Born on 12 Feb 1830.[1] Rachel H. died on 18 Feb 1874, she was 44.[1] Family of Matthew McCRARY (3) & Nancy EASON 16. Marquis L. McCRARY "Marcus"[1], M. Marquis L. died on 5 May 1862 in Civil War, Richmond, Virginia.[1],[4] Marcus joined the CSA "Talbot Guards" March 4, 1862. Marcus died in a Richmond Hospital on May 5, 1862.[1][4] 17. Arcadius A. McCRARY[1], M. Arcadius A. died on 5 Jul 1863 in Civil War, Gettysburg ?[1],[1] Arcadius joined the CSA "Talbot Guards on June 11, 1863. Born on 24 Apr 1859 in Talbot County, Georgia.[1] Lola Montez died on 26 Mar 1939, she was 79.[1],[3] Was named for an actress, dancer and adventuress famed in many countries of the world. Marie Dolores Eliza Gilbert (1818-1861), "Lola Montez", was born in Limerick, Ireland. She was noted as a "Spanish dancer" and successfully toured the US during the 1850's. Lola Montez McCrary Heath, beloved as "Dolly", was not formally educated in music, but had considerable talent for the panio, "playing anything she heard."[1] On 12 Feb 1889 when Lola Montez was 29, she married Madison Clark HEATH[1],[3], M.[3] Born in 1856.[1] Madison Clark died in 1940, he was 84.[1] 26.
