It goes back to Anthony Drane, b. abt 1666 in Scotland and died in Prince George Co., MD bef. 27 March 1706. There is also an excellent account of the Drane family in the book, WILDER FAMILIES, by William Murtha Wilder. It takes the family from Anthony in 1666 to present times. Dr. Drane treated smallpox during the civil war. Martha Hughes Winfrey Drane. Her first husband was Sterling Jones who died shortly after they were married. Her father was Jesse Winfrey, Revolutionary War Soldier from GA. Her Grandfather and great grandfathers were all Revolutionary War Soldiers or Patriots in Virginia.
