It is the only document that I know of that states the names of his children. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Calhoun's & others Deed to HENRY JACKSON 5 tracts State of Alabama Tallapoosa County This Indenture made this fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty seven between DUNCAN CALHOUN, RACHEL PETERSON, ALEXANDER CALHOUN, DUGALD CALHOUN, ISABELLA CALHOUN, AND JENNET CALHOUN of the County of Coosa and State of aforesaid and ARCHD. (ARCHIBALD) CALHOUN and JOHN SULLIVAN of the County of Tallapoosa and State of the aforesaid of the one part and HENRY JACKSON of the County of Sampson State of North Carolina of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said HENRY JACKSON hath by these presents sell and convey unto him the said HENRY JACKSON his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever the following tracts or parcels of land situated lying and being in the County of Sampson and State of North Carolina the same being bounded as follows beginning at a pine by the head of a Spring Branch thence east 120 poles to a Stake in the Cypress pond thence South 134 poles to a pine in a pond thence west 120 poles to a Stake thence North 134 poles to the beginning containing 100 acres of land also an other tract beginning at the first named pine and runs South 131 poles to a Stake thence West 52 poles to a Stake MCKINNONS South West corner Thence north 131 Thence East 52 to the beginning containing 42 1/2 acres Also another tract of land containing 25 acres joining the first tract on the north Beginning at a pine the corner of the first tract above mentioned and runs with said line east 44 poles to a pine thence with said line North 9 poles to a Stake thence with said line west 44 poles to a Stake thence South to the Beginning containing in all 107 1/2 acres also another tract of Land the line beginning a corner of the above described land and runs North 91 poles to a Stake on one of the Said lines thence east 41 poles to a pine corner thence North 15 poles to a Stake on the edge of the new road thence East 42 poles to LOCKERMANS line thence with said line and passed the corner South 106 poles thence with DANIEL MCCORQUODALES west line to the Beginning containing 50 1/2 acres also one tract lying on the head branch of Taylors Swamp and on the drains of Beaver dam Beginning at a past oak the corner of the 50 acre Survey thence said line south 90 poles to a Stake thence east 7 poles to a Stake thence South 91 poles to a pine thence west 111 poles to a pine thence North 55 east 128 poles to two pines thence North 45-57 poles to a Stake in the edge of a branch thence North 50 poles east to MCQUEENS line 140 poles to a Small Pine on said line thence South to the Beginning and containing 124---with all and singular the profits hereditary, and apertinances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining the Said DUNCAN CALHOUN, RACHAEL PETERSON, ALEXANDER CALHOUN, DUGALD CALHOUN, ISABELLA CALHOUN, JENNET CALHOUN, ARCHD. CALHOUN, and JOHN SULLIVAN doth hereby absolutely bargain sell and release convey and confirm unto the said HENRY JACKSON his heirs and assigns in fee simple? and the said DUNCAN CALHOUN, RACHAEL PETERSON, ALEXANDER CALHOUN, DUGALD CALHOUN, ISABELLA CALHOUN, JENNET CALHOUN, ARCHD. CALHOUN, and JOHN SULLIVAN doth hereby covenant promise and agree to and with the said HENRY JACKSON his heirs and assigns forever to warrant and defend the before granted promises from and against themselves their heirs or any other person or persons whatever laying and lawful claims thereunto. In witness thereof the Said DUNCAN CALHOUN, RACHAEL PETERSON, ALEXANDER CALHOUN, DUGALD CALHOUN, ISABELLA CALHOUN, JENNET CALHOUN, ARCHD.
