Deed Book G, Page 263 State of Georgia Talbot County This Indenture made this the eleventh day of May 1846 between James Layfield of the one part and David Shelton of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Layfield for in and consideration of the sum of ten dollars to him in hand paid by the said Shelton hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto him the right privileges and permission of backing water on lot of land number One Hundred & Eighteen in the Eleventh District of originally Muscogee County by said Shelton creating a mill dam across Juniper Creek on his own land and below the said lot of land number One Hundred & Eighteen together with all and every other privilege incident to and connected with the backing of water upon said parcel of lot of land and in testimony whereof the said Layfield hath hereunto set his hand and seal this day and year above written.
