Thomas V. Ruffin to Deed John Ruffin By virtue of a Power of Attorney to me executed by William W. Ruffin of the County of TALBOT and State of Georgia bearing date the 6th day of March 1841, I Thomas V. Ruffin of the said County of TALBOT and State of Georgia hath this 10th day of April 1841 , for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me the said Thomas V Ruffin in hand paid at and before the signing & sealing of these presents by the JOHN RUFFIN of the County of Bertie and State of North Carolinathe receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold and by these present doth bargain, sell and release unto the said JOHN RUFFIN his heirs and assinges for ever, all his title and interest in and to any lands lying and being in the county of BERTIE in the State of North Carolina which descended to the said William W. RUFFIN as one of the heirs at law of the late THOMAS RUFFIN, being his undivided interest in that portion of the lands of said THOMAS, purchased by him after the date of his last will and testament. To have and to hold the said bargained premises, together with the appertenances, and all and singular the rights and privileges to it appertaining on in any wise belonging to him the said JOHN RUFFIN his heirs and assigns, to his and their only possess, use benefit and behoof and the said Thomas V. RUFFIN doth hereby for himself,and for the said William W Ruffin, their heirs executors and administrators, warrant and defend the above bargained premises to wit ONE FOURTH OF ONE UNDIVIDED FIFTH of the land purchased by said THOMAS RUFFIN , subsequent to the date of his said last will and testament, to him the said JOHN RUFFIN his heirs and assigns against all persons claiming under through and by him and against the lawful claim of each and every person whatsoever.
