Witnesseth that he the said John Dupree for an in consideration of the sum of Six hundred dollars to me in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold unto the said Harrison Smith his heirs &C all that tract or lot of land known and distinguished by lot number Two hundred & fifty Six (256) lying & being in the Twenty third District of Muscogee County originally but now Talbot county containing Two hundred two & half acres (with the exception of two and half acres to be laid off at Trice’s Saw Mill on each side of the Creek) having such shape and marks as doth appear in a plat of said lot together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the only use benefit and behoof of him the said Harrison Smith his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple. And I the said John Dupree for myself my heirs Execrs. & administrators do warrant and defend the right and title of said lot of land forever unto the said Smith his heirs &C from the claim of all persons whatsoever.~ In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day and date above written ~ John Dupree {SEAL} Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Wm L.
