This was located in land lot 47 of the 24th land district (Talbot County) The creek behind the old site is Dean's mill Creek on the present day maps and I located the site of Deans Mill. Deans mill ran until about 1910 and was then owned by the Matthews family. A tremendous amout of rock work was done by hand on the creek to divert the water to what was a huge mill. A series of lakes was also constructed up stream to hold water for hard times. John Dean was one of the early residents in the area. Also Childs family and Benjamin Smith.
