ELECTIONS. 1831 Vol. 1 -- Page: 125 Sequential Number: 100 Full Title: AN ACT to establish election [Illegible Text] or districts in the several counties hereinafter named, in addition to those already established, at the several places therein specified, and to punish those who may attempt to violate the provisions of the same: viz. the counties of Twiggs, Washington, Franklin, Habersham, Madison, Henry, Stewart, Newton, Early, Jones, Marion, Lincoln, Talbot, Meriwether, Hancock, Decatur, DeKalb, Fayette, Laurens, Coweta, Carroll, Randolph, Heard, Greene, Bulloch, Clark, Campbell, and Hall; and to repeal in part an act passed the nineteenth December, 1828, entitled an act to establish and regulate district elections in the county of Talbot. Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Georgia, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passing of this act, it shall be lawful to hold elections in the several counties hereinafter named, and at the places therein severally specified: viz. for Governor, Electors of President and Vice President, members of the Legislature, members of Congress, and county officers. Sec. 20. And be it further enacted, That the additional places of holding elections in the county of Talbot shall be at the house of William Brooks, the place of holding magistrates Courts in captain Dupree's district, of said county; also at the house of Gardner H. Davis, on lot number one hundred and eighty-one in the fifteenth district of originally Muscogee now Talbot county; also at the house of William Rushin, on lot number one hundred and thirty-five in the twenty-fourth district of originally Muscogee now Talbot county; also at the house of Caleb M. Norwood's, in captain Young's district in said county. Sec. 28. And be it further enacted, That so much of an act passed the nineteenth of December, 1828, entitled "an act to establish and regulate district elections in the county of Talbot, as creates an election district at the house of [Illegible Text] Cormack's, or the place of holding Justices Courts in Capt. John [Illegible Text] district, be and the same is hereby repealed.
