Full Title: An Act for the relief of William Searcy, and the estate of Peter F. Mahone, late of Talbot county, deceased, and for other purposes therein mentioned. 25. Section I. WHEREAS, William Searcy, of the county of Talbot, having in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-three, paid into the Treasury of the State, the sum of fifty dollars and seventy-five cents, over and above his just taxes, for said year, and it appearing that said William Searcy gave in his taxable property in the county of Talbot, and there a double tax being assessed on the same property by the tax Receiver of Taylor county, from which fact said William Searcy was caused to have to pay and did pay, the above stated sum to the tax Collector of Taylor county, for remedy whereof 26. Sec. II. Be it enacted &c., That from and after the passage of this act, that his Excellency the Governor, be and he is hereby authorized and required to draw his warrant upon the Treasury of the State, for the sum of thirty six dollars out of any monies not otherwise appropriated in consideration of an over payment of taxes in favor of said William Searcy.
