Jones Perryman, Jr., One of 582 Men Going to Fort Oglethorpe A. Jones Perryman, Jr., of Talbotton, prominent young attorney and editor of the Talbotton New Era, has been chosen as one of the 582 men from Georgia to go to Fort Oglethorpe on Aug. 27 to attend the officers’ training camp. He is one of the youngest editors in Georgia and the columns of his paper have been patriotic and in support of the Administration. The newspaper fraternity over Georgia will be pleased to know that he will not sever his connection with the New Era, but will edit the editorial page from Fort Oglethorpe for the next few months. He is one of the newspaper men in Georgia who is practicing what he preaches, for in advising others to stand by the Administration he is taking his own medicine by going himself.
