BROWN IS AN OLD MAN: While MILLER Was a Boy Still in His Teens. Much Interest is Felt in the Result of the Trial. Special Correspondence. Talbotton, Ga., Sept. 21.The superior court of Talbot county commenced work on the criminal docket Monday. There were several minor cases disposed of. . . The case of W. S. BROWN, for the murder of John Henry MILLER in the northern part of the county last March, came up for trial this morning and both sides announced ready. Late this afternoon the jury had been selected and a great part of the testimony was in. This is a case of much magnitude and the testimony so far appears damaging to BROWN. BROWN is a very old man and his locks are white. MILLER was a boy in his teens and it was said that BROWN was drunk and shot him because he walked past his house whistling. This, however, has not yet come out in the testimony, and may not. Both sides have an array of witnesses and it will probably be noon tomorrow before the case goes to the jury: J. C. SPINKS, Isaac WATKINS, W. A. TILLMAN, A. L. McMANUS, C. T. McDANIEL, C. P. GREER, W. A. WILLIS, L. H. ADAMS, Z. T. ADAMS, J. S. WALL, J. C. PARKER and Jesse ADAMS. The three ADAMS boys are brothers.
