Celebrate Crystal Wedding The friends of Mr. and Mrs. D.B. Dickson have received invitations to the Crystal Wedding which they will celebrate this evening at their lovely home on South Tennessee Avenue. The invitations are as follows. 1896 1911 Mr. and Mrs. David B. Dickson at Home Friday evening, April fourteenth from Eight to Ten o’clock Crystal Wedding Crystal Wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Dickson Fittingly Celebrated One of the most delightful social affairs enjoyed in Lakeland in a long time was that given by Mr. and Mrs. D.B. Dickson on last Friday evening, when they celebrated their Crystal Wedding. Numerous invitations had been sent out and about sixty guests were present to enjoy the hospitality of this excellent couple. On arriving the guests were served with delicious punch, the bowls being presided over by little Misses Mildred Young and Virginia Lufsey assisted by three fine sons of the family. The host and hostess greeted their guests at the parlor doors, where they were showered with congratulations in true wedding style. The parlor and dining rooms were beautifully decorated in white and green, long sprays of training bamboo mingled with white, being used to great advantage in the parlors, while being in the tastefully arranged dining room long streamers of white and green crepe paper, extending from the ceiling to the corners of the table, produced a very pretty effect. The evening was spent in pleasant converse, many enjoying the oft-repeated assertion of the gallant “groom” that his “bride” was looking younger and prettier now than fifteen years ago. On tables in the rear parlor were displayed the handsome presents, the more than sixty pieces of beautiful cut glass being much admired by the guests and attesting the esteem in which Mr. and Mrs. Dickson are held by their many friends. A dainty two-course luncheon was served later in the evening, after which the guests departed, many expressing the wish they might sometime have the pleasure of attending the Golden Wedding of those who had so pleasantly entertained on this occasion.
