Fire broke out between two unoccupied stores owned by Amos Leonard and Miss Mary Mathews. The negroes were having a frolic and it seems the fire originated from this point. R. Wind's store was burned, also the store formerly occupied by F. Eisman, which is now used for storing his bankrupt stock. The store of J.I. Johnson was also burned. A considerable amount of goods were saved but badly damaged. The loss is about $30,000 with very little insurance.
