He will be 81 years of age on the 6th of March. He does not use eyeglasses nor seldom wears an overcoat. Since his boyhood he has been going to bed early and rising at four. And for nearly two-thirds of a century he has been imitating the crow of a rooster – but now in his old age it takes “something strong and good” to make him even crow as loud as a bantam cock. It will be thus. The weight of years will bend the back and cause youthful buoyancy to depart. But it is pleasing to meet an aged person who is good humored and hopeful even if he or she is nearing the land of shadows.
