The alarm was given about one o’clock, the fire having been discovered in the rear of the residence. Neighbors hurried to the scene but the flames had gained such headway that it was impossible to put them out. None of the furniture upstairs was saved. Nearly everything was badly damaged by the rough handling which it received. The loss of Mrs. Robins will be several thousand dollars. It is understood that she carried two thousand dollars worth of insurance but this will not cover more than a fourth of the loss. Mrs. Robins and her family have the sympathy of their friends in Talbotton and elsewhere in the loss of her elegant home.
