Alfred Douglass, the local colored leader, has gone to Chicago to attend the 
Republican National Convention.  He goes as an alternate from the Fourth 
Congressional District.

Alf Douglass has returned from Chicago where he attended the Republican 
Convention.  He says that when speaker Joe Cannon arose to address the 
assembly, it was hard from him to realize that it was not Uncle Tom Lumsden.  
They are about the same age, height and weight and Alf says they bear a strking 
resemblance.
