Miss Marie Barnes and Messrs. Robert Blythe and George Pedicord of Junction City attended the show here Thursday night. The little infant of Mr. E.R. Langford died Saturday night and was buried Sunday at Centerville. Mr. and Mrs. J.H. McGehee announce the birth of a son Nov. 4th, 1911. Mr. C.N. Vaughn has opened up a restaurant in the store room between Bardwell Drug Co. and T.A. Bardwell & Co. He serves fresh oysters, fish and other delicious eatables at all hours of the day. This is a new industry for Talbotton and one which we hope will succeed. Give him a trial. Dr. E.L. Bardwell bought the opera house at administrator’s sale Tuesday for $630. Suits from $10 to $25 at Persons Brothers. Mr. T.H. Persons, Sr., went up to Atlanta Sunday. Col. W.N. McGehee spent Sunday in Atlanta. A good and kind pony for sale not afraid of automobiles. – L.W. Smith Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Smith have returned to Reynolds. Miss Miriam Jones spent Sunday in Columbus. Mr. E.H. McGehee visited his wife Sunday in Greenville. For Rent – Two good two-horse farms, good houses, pasture and near white school. – Dr. C.M. Black. Talbotton, Ga. Mr. Hamp Couch of Columbus visited relatives here Sunday. Col. W.D. Munroe, of Buena Vista, was in the city on business Monday. Miss Emily Baldwin spent last week with friends and relatives here. Two very desirable lots on College Street for sale. – T.N. Beall Miss Ethel Calhoun has accepted a position with Blanchard & Booth in Columbus. Talbotton’s young people enjoyed a dance at the opera house Friday night. Miss May Covington came up from Geneva to attend the dance Friday night. While here she was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Mahone. The many friends of Mr. B.M. Spear are glad to know that he is able to get out upon the streets after a long confinement to his bed from a spell of Typhoid fever. Dr. and Mrs. J.B. McGehee of Oglethorpe came up Monday afternoon to visit their little grandson at the home of Col. J.H. McGehee. Public Grist Mill Mr. W.C. Thomas is preparing to install a public grist mill in town. Just as soon as the machinery arrives he will be ready for business. He expects to have it ready by the end of the week. He will grind for part of corn or meal, or money and will have meal for sale.
