Spelling Bee At Valley Grove

The Valley Grove School treated the public to a spelling bee Friday night.  
There was a large crowd present, and every one seemed to enjoy it.  The 
younger children’s spelling was good.  Ruby Russell won first prize, Owen 
Bickley consolation.  This was followed by another which was a decided 
success.  Miss Clarence Vivian Fryer was the winner of the first prize.  Miss 
Mattie Beverly of Woodland took the consolation prize.  Among those who 
deserve special mention were Miss Annie Gene Fryer who gave the winner of the 
first prize some work to do.
