TALBOTTON, Ga., Feb. 5.-Mr. William (sic-Winfield) Scott Brown has returned to 
his old home after four years' imprisonment in state penitetniary (sic). His 
pardon, by Governor Terrell was secured through a petition circulated by former 
pupils. Mr. Brown was for many years one of Talbot county's representative men. 
Scholarly and refined, he held fine positions as teacher, and later did excellent 
service in reclaiming hundreds of acres of untaxed land.
He has a host of friends throughout the state who rejoice that he is free to 
spend his last years in the fresh air and bright sunlight. He is accorded a warm 
welcome wherever he goes.
