J.T. Adams. Mrs. Barfield was born February 27, 1878, being forty-one years of age. She was the mother of three daughters, Mrs. Alma Slade, of Hamilton, Mrs. Willie Mae Payne, of McBean, and Martha, eight years of age. She also leaves two sons, Floyd Barfield, of Macon, and Clifford Barfield, of Hamilton. She also leaves two step-daughters, Mrs. Herbert Herring and Mrs. T.N. Bazemore, who, from infancy until her death loved and treated their step-mother, as if she had been their own mother in flesh and blood. Such love and devotion by step-children is worthy of emulation. And when we consider the true and tried traits of character, the gentleness and sweetness of her disposition, her willingness to serve, to do her duty in every walk of life, then it is not strange that these step-daughters as well as her own children loved her while living and mourn, with bleeding hearts, their loss in her death. The large floral offering contributed by friends of Talbotton bear silent attestation of the high regard in which she was held by those who knew her best. Beside those mentioned above she leaves a broken hearted father and mother, to mourn the death, of this their last child. The following from Talbotton and vicinity accompanied the remains to Butler, Mr. A.A. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. W. Mitchell, Mr. C.M. Ingram, Mr. Zack Adams and Miss Lucy Adams, Mr. John Clemons and Mr. E. Garrett. J.T.A. Card of Thanks Talbotton, Ga.
