She was 27 years old – married W.A. Blythe in 1904 and six years they walked together in life’s pathway. God blessed the union with one little boy Beland, five years of age who we pray will be a star in her crown. Mrs. Blythe was a member of M.E. Church South and never was there a nobler, purer and kinder hearted woman ever lived; and it was always her pleasure administering to the wants of others and many acts of kindness has she bestowed on the sick. She will be sadly missed in her homestead and vicinity as there are few such women who live. It may be truly said of her “none knew her but to love her.” She attracted and held her friends by her loving ways and all who came within the charming circle of her acquaintances were drawn to her by the sweetness of her disposition and hospitality; as the doors to her home were always open and it was her greatest pleasure and enjoyment to have her friends with her. But alas, “God moves in a mysterious way.” Her taking off was not a shock as she had been confined to her bed seven weeks. She went to sleep to awake in a fairer clime where winter lingers not, where the flowers ever bloom, where sweet fountains distill cadence like a sweet dream and where the soft footfalls of guardian angels attend and love her as she wanders among new delights and basks in the sunshine of their affection. She now enjoys that bliss and joy that awaits all who are good and true. She has gone to join her beloved mother who preceded her 17 days before. Mrs. Blythe was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. McLendon and was born and reared near Box Springs. Besides her father, heart-broken husband and little boy, she is survived by two sisters Mrs. Tom Meriwether of Pikeroad, Ala. and Miss Annera McLendon of Box Springs, two brothers, Mr. C.R. McLendon of Columbus, Ga. and Mr. W.F. McLendon of Lakeland, Fla.
