The Talbotton New Era Thursday, March 16, 1911 Page Two In Memoriam There is nothing which so forcibly reminds us of the mulability of all earthly happiness as the death of a dear one. Yea be it the dear daughter, the fond mother or the loving wife of the husbands bosom. How completely wrecked the happiness of home when mother and wife are taken how shattered the vace of every incentive to hope and happiness when a devoted husband looks upon the motherless children left to his care. Such desolution such woe was the sequence in the passing of Mrs. G.W. Brightwell February 17th last at 11 a.m. If by inditing these feeble lines to her blessed memory I could assuage the grief of her aged mother and family or alleviate the anguish husband fain would I offer generously every condolence. It was the writers privilege to meet the deceased then Miss Carrie Gibson ten years ago in Talbotton where she was reared then the impersonation of health and beauty budding into young womanhood. I was deeply impressed with her modesty and noble womanly bearing so in keeping with her comely person. Mrs. Brightwell was married Feb. 10th, 1904, was a devoted member of the Methodist church. She was buried by her mother and brothers at Oak Hill Cemetery in Talbotton. She leaves to lament her death several brothers and sisters, a mother, three small children and a husband. Having drank the same bitter chalice to the very dregs in the loss of an angel daughter and a good wife I can fully sympathize with the mother and husband. What the husband has to bear I have borne motherless children in a friendless cold world. And then too the waps of providence seem indeed strange to our natural understanding but remember afflicted family and disconsolate husband that this life is but a span to the countless ages of eternity and it is yours to cherish the sweet hope to meet mama in a land of fadeless blossom and perenial bliss where her pure spirit is today.
