Blythe - Talbot Civic Leader Dies After Long Illness Funeral services for William A. Blythe, 64, one of Talbot County's most widely-known civic leaders who died at his home in Junction City Monday after a long illness, will be conducted at Junction City Baptist Church Wednesday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Richard Howard. Burial will be in the Junction City Cemetery. Mr. Blythe was cashier of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Junction City, and was formerly a member of the County Board of Education. Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary Barnes Blythe, he is survived by a son, Beeland Blythe, of the United States Army. This obituary also appeared in The Columbus Enquirer, Wednesday, June 30, 1943. The Talbotton New Era Thursday, June 1, 1943 Mr. William A. Blythe died at his home in Junction City Monday night following a long illness. Mr. Blythe was 64 years of age and was one of the most prominent men in the county. He was cashier of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Junction City. For a number of years Mr. Blythe was a member of the Talbot County Board of Education and a trustee of the Junction City School. He was a member of the Baptist church and was a leader in the religious and educational activities of his community and county. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Junction City Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Richard officiating.
