Carter Mr. J.R. (Wright) Carter, a prominent farmer and well-known citizen of near Norwich, died unexpectedly about 7 o’clock last Thursday morning in Columbus, where he had gone to consult a specialist relative to his health. Mr. Carter was walking on the sidewalk near the union depot when he was seized with an attack of heart-failure and fell to the ground in an unconscious condition. An officer was near and ran to his assistance. After calling an ambulance the stricken man was carried to the City hospital but was dead when he arrived there. Letters in his pocket identified the unfortunate man as J.R. Carter, of Junction City. Relatives were advised and they went to Columbus to bring the remains home. The remains of Mr. Carter were laid to rest at Pine Level cemetery Saturday morning. He was about 65 years old and is survived by his mother, one sister and a large number of relatives and friends all of whom are deeply grieved on account of his death.
