Capt. John W. Dozier who formerly lived in Talbot County died last Wednesday 
evening at the home of his son, Eugene R. Dozier, 331 Carling Avenue, Macon, 
Ga.

He graduated from Collinsworth Institute of Talbotton and after took the M.A. 
Degree at Emory College.

He married Miss Lenora L. Sanford of Talbotton in 1857.  She still survives 
him.  He was a brother-in-law of Uncle Bob Mizell.

Captain Dozier spent most of his life as a schoolteacher.  He was an exemplary 
Christian gentleman.  He was buried at Perry with Masonic honors.
