He had been an invalid for about twelve months. The Talbotton New Era Thursday, August 17, 1911 Page Seven Poplar and Prattsburg The death of Mr. Thomas Greathouse was received with sadness, though expected by the entire community. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Centerville the last solemn rights were performed by Rev. G.C. Ingram in presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends. He leaves a noble christian wife and several children; his legacy in the years of toil and the raising of a large, interesting, lovely family, who are close adherents in progressive interest in church and society. He was sixty-five years old, and came from Crawford county when a small boy, casting his lot with these people, enlisting and identifying himself in promoting the welfare of his neighborhood.
