Talbotton, Ga., May 20-
J. O. Holmes, a member of one of Talbot county's most respected families, died 
this morning at his home in The Valley.  Mr. Holmes' death comes as a surprise 
to his friends, as he was ill only a short time.  He is survived by his wife, 
Mrs. Mary Lou Hayes Holmes; by four daughters and two sons.  Internment was in 
the family buring ground this afternoon.
