Hammock Charlie Wanzer Hammock, 50, 4503 19th Ave, died Saturday at the Medical Center. Funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Striffler-Hamby Macon Road Chapel with burial in Parkhill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James Welch, Larry Daniel, Bob Trowbridge, Roscoe Tarvin, Bud Alverson, and James Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Royer, E.A. Pound, Stokeley Pound, Bicky Bickerstaff, Richard Bickerstaff, Frank Bickerstaff, Kerry Hammock, Eugene Starling, Keith Hammock, Donald Christopher, Stephen Christopher, Clayton Christopher, Terry Montgomery, and Bruce Montgomery. Mr. Hammock was born Dec 19, 1921, in Talbot County, a son of the late Charlie C. and Addie Currington Hammock. He had lived in Columbus for 30 years, was a veteran of World War II and superintendent of Pound Construction C. He was a member of the Beallwood Baptist Church and the Mount Herman Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josephine Montgomery Hammock, Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Duncan, Columbus; a brother, Roscoe Hammock, Yatesville; three sisters, Mrs. Ray Akins, Statesboro, Mrs. Ina Lee Starling, Thomaston, and Mrs. Randolph Christopher, Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Jay, Lisa, and Tracy Duncan all of Columbus. ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
