Talbot COUNTY GA Harbuck, David Thomas, Sr. File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Angela Covington http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/talbot/obits/harbuck.txt Funeral Rites Held for Mr. David Thomas Harbuck (Hand written note “died 12-22-77”) The funeral services for David Thomas Harbuck Sr., 79, were held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, from Charing United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Bacher and The Rev. Tegler Greer officiating. Interment was in the Mauk Cemetery. Born in Talbot County on August 17,1898, he was the son of the late James Madison and Josephine Baggett Harbuck. He had been a member of the Taylor County Board of Education for 18 years and a Trustee of the Mauk School for 20 years. He served on the Governor’s staff under Governor E.D. Rivers. Mr. Harbuck was a retired farmer. Mr. Harbuck died in the Marion Memorial Hospital last Sunday, December 11, after having been in ill health for a long time. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Watson Harbuck of Mauk; three sons, Virgil Harbuck of Macon, David T. Harbuck r., of Warner Robins and Freddie Harbuck of Butler; eight daughters, Mrs. Josephine Welch, Mauk, Mrs. Dorothy Hill, Saudi Arabia, Mrs. Maudie Wright and Mrs. Bonnie Smith of Bainbridge, Mrs. Mary Jo Mines of Warner Robins, Mrs. Lessie Wyrick of Columbus, Mrs. Merrell Ramrick of Atlanta, and Mrs. Juanita Tante of Buena Vista; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, The Tante Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements with Felton, Morris and Carey Harbuck, Gordon and Warren Welch, Norman Upton and Blan Flournoy serving as pallbearers. ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
