Sad Deaths

The death of Mrs. George Ligon, nee McBride, which occurred at her home near
Geneva Monday afternoon and the suicide of her husband Tuesday night form one of
the saddest tragedies perhaps ever enacted in Talbot County.

No reason is assigned for the suicidal act and it is supposed that it was caused
by intense grief on account of the death of his wife.  Quite a number of
children are left fatherless by this rash act and who were already deprived of a
mother’s love and care.

The double interment took place yesterday at the old Ligon cemetery near Geneva.
