Moore Messrs. J.E. and C.D. Moore received a telegram early Monday morning from Geneva announcing the sudden death of their mother, Mrs. S.M. Moore, which took place at 12 o’clock Sunday night of dropsy of the heart. She was unusually cheerful Sunday afternoon but about 8 o’clock she suddenly swooned and requested that water be thrown on her face, which were the last words she uttered and death came just four hours later. Mrs. Moore was sixty-six years of age, and was the devoted mother of a large family of children. She had been a consistent member of the Missionary Baptist church forty years, having become a member of that church soon after she married and had lived an exemplary Christian life. Her remains were laid to rest at Moore’s Chapel named in honor of her husband, Tuesday at 11 o’clock, Rev. S. Maxwell of Talbotton preaching the funeral. For twenty years previous to the death of the husband and father last December the angel of Death had not visited this family and the taking away of father and mother in six months is doubly sad. The sudden death of Mrs. Moore is an admonition to the living that “in the midst of life we are in death.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/talbot/obits/m/ob6024moore.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
