He went out with the 9th Georgia Regiment in 1861, and was promoted to lieutenant; came home only one time during the war. He never was sick during his life until stricken with paralysis on the 25th of March. He was so modest and polite and brave that the boy in the army nicknamed him prince. He was a man of sorrows but they were always kept in the background and he forever presented a cheerful and friendly smile. He entertained malice against no one. He made no religious pretensions, yet to those who knew him best, he had a quick and keen perception in his feelings for a refined life and noble moral qualities. He leaves three sisters, and one daughter. He lost his wife years ago. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
