She was visiting relatives in Waverly Hall when taken sick and as she did not improve any they decided it was best to bring her home where she rapidly grew worse until the end came. In spite of all that loving hands and skilled physicians could do God called His jewel home. She was only eight years old and was a sweet, good tempered child and all who knew her loved her. There will be a vacant seat at home and in the school where she will be sadly missed by her little mates. It is hard to give a loved one up but let us be constrained to say the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away blessed be the name of the Lord. The funeral was preached at the home of her parents and the interment took place at what is known as the Perkins (the word is blurred – looks like Perkins) burying ground.
