Watkins, only to remain with them two short years. J.W., as he was called, in all of his innocence and purity was surrounded by numerous attentions. Always having a smile and kiss ready for all whom he met. On Friday the 19th, after nearly two weeks of intense suffering, J.W. left this world for his eternal home in the skies. When his soul took its flight, doubtless the glad tidings rang through the celestial throng, “Leave the beautiful gates ajar.” A mother’s heart is bleeding, father and kindred are weeping, but out of the clouds a voice is heard, “Not dead, but safe in the arms of Jesus.” The surviving ones can only say “Thy will be done.” May God who saw fit to call your loved one to Him give you strength sufficient to bear your cross. May there be a silken cord of hope binding your hearts to heaven, held by his dear little hands – then let his memory lead you on through life’s dark shadows, comforted by thoughts of his angel face till you meet him above.
