Gorman Dead Again the sad roll has been called and another sweet spirit has gone to its God. Our town was shocked yesterday when the news was spread that death had claimed Mrs. O.D. Gorman, wife of our esteemed county school commissioner. Her sickness was not considered severe until the last day or two of her life. Expert physicians were brought from Macon and other cities, and all that could be done was done but to no avail. Mrs. Gorman was a devout Christian and her influence in her home over her children was of the highest type. She leaves her husband, two daughters, Mrs. C.A. Ryder of Columbus, and Miss Sallie Fannie, and two sons, Messrs. O.D. Gorman, Jr., of Tifton, and Prof. W.S. Gorman of Shellman, to mourn her death and a host of friends mourn with them in this sad hour. Note: There is a memoriam for Martha Homes Gorman in the October 1, 1903 issue of the Talbotton New Era, page 7 in the bottom left hand corner. In the October 8, 1903 issue, page 6, there are resolutions of sympathy by the W.F.M. Society out of respect for their coworker, Sallie Fannie Gorman, a daughter of Mrs. Gorman.
