Holmes, her death occurring at 6 o’clock that morning. Miss Fannie was a young lady just in the flower of life and it is sad for her to be cut off just at the time when hope is at is zenith. She was a devoted Christian young lady, a bright and active member of the Evans Chapel M.E. Church, and while it is sad to give her up, it is comforting to know that she is relieved from her sufferings and is rejoicing with the redeemed of God. May her short but pure life ending in victory, be a bright light, leading her loved ones to the land to which she is now gone. Friends grieve with the bereaved family. The Talbotton New Era Thursday, October 29, 1903 Page 7 Card of Thanks We desire to express sincere heartfelt thanks to our many friends for their unfailing kindness and tender sympathy extended to our family all during our daughter’s illness, death and in the last sad rites of her burial. Also to the physician, Dr. Hill, for his kind thoughtful attention during the weary hours of her prolonged illness. Such Christian sympathy is registered on appreciative hearts. Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Holmes *Note – A Tribute of Respect for Fannie Holmes written by the Evans Chapel Church is located in the New Era issue dated December 10, 1903 on page 2.
