Neal nee Dickson will be pained to learn of her death which occurred at her home in McIntosh, Fla., at 11:15 o’clock p.m., Nov. 8th. She was born in Talbot County May 21st 1854. At the early age of fifteen years she consecrated her life to God by uniting with the Baptist church. She was married to McCormick Neal, and moved with him to Florida during the winter of 1886. Since coming among us she has endeared herself to every heart. Her whole life has been one of love and sacrifice. A more devoted wife never lived, and she has proven a mother indeed to her two orphaned nieces. She came to us a healthy, beautiful woman; scattering sunshine in every home, comforting the sorrows of others and giving a helping hand wherever there was need. No sacrifice was too great for her. Her tender ministrations and bright loving ways were felt wherever there was sickness or suffering, and while going on her holy missions for others, her own loved ones were never forgotten. For several years her health has been failing, but we did not think she would so soon be taken from us. During her last illness she suffered the most excruciating pain, but never a word of complaint or impatience passed her lips. Her whole life has been such a bright Christian example that we can only exclaim, “One more added to the happy host of the redeemed in heaven.” She was laid to rest in McIntosh cemetery. Mary F.
