Parker met her death by a singular accident. It occurred at the home of the child’s parents in Girard. The child had gone out in the yard to play. A swing made from an old piece of cotton rope had been made under the house for the benefit of the baby, the house being about three feet from the ground. The child had been in the yard only a few moments when the mother thought she heard a struggle of some kind taking place under the house and at once thinking of her baby, she sent her little boy to investigate. The little boy found the baby lying partly on the ground with the rope of the swing around its neck; the swing had caught the child and its feet could barely reach the ground. The mother was at once called and she found her little babe dead. The body of the child was carried to Geneva and the interment took place there Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Parker were originally from this county and they have many friends here who sympathize with them in their sorrow.
