Personal Items

Ellen Leonard, an old Negro woman who has lived in Talbotton for years, died in 
Atlanta last Thursday.  She had gone there to witness the marriage of her 
daughter and contracted Lagrippe.  Her remains were brought back to Talbotton 
and interred here.  Aunt Ellen was a good woman and was liked by all of the 
white population.  She belonged to that class of old family servants which is 
so rapidly passing away in the South and the sad thought is, that there are 
none among the present generation which is growing up to take their places.
