Gilmore, who was probably the eldest citizen of Talbot County, died at his home five miles west of Talbotton last week. He had been in feeble health for several months, due to his extreme age and his death was not unexpected. At the time of his death Governor Gilmore was eighty-six years of age. He was a member of Olive Lodge of Masons and one of the best-known men of the order. The funeral occurred near Geneva and was conducted by members of the local Mason order.
