For a number of years I resided near her and knew her well. She was a devoted wife and mother and a loyal friend, and was always ready and willing to aid the sick or distressed. Her death was doubly sad in that she left 9 children, the youngest only 2 ½ years old, and I can but feel deeply for those children thus bereaved also the husband left alone. Possibly there are others who could have been better spared we are prone to think, instead of this mother, whose loss is so deeply felt, and whose home has been left so desolate.
