Hendricks and snatched from his loving arms his little sixteen year old daughter, Sallie Mae. She just lived one week and a few hours after her mother died. She too had measles and took pneumonia which caused her death. She was just budding into young ladyhood and the future was so bright but she was too pure for earth and its sins and ere the bud had matured God saw fit to pluck it and transplant it where it would be free from all earthly cares and sorrows. Sallie Mae had a very sweet and loving disposition and all who knew her loved her. She was a member of the Methodist church and Sunday school and attended regularly. Dear loved ones we know your hearts are bleeding and almost broken but it grieves God to thus afflict us and his great heart now beats in loving sympathy with you. Dear Sallie Mae suffered so much pain during the last few days of her life, but today she is free from all pain and with a smiling face stands by her mother’s side watching for you.
