Negro Killed

Elbert Adams, colored, who was shot a week ago by Leonard Grant, near Max, died 
Saturday.  Before he died he said the accident was purely accidental. He and 
Leonard were tampering with a pistol when it suddenly fired, the ball entering 
his chest.

Leonard Grant has not yet been arrested and it is not probable that he will be 
prosecuted.
