Albert Kimbrough, 85, who died at his family home here Friday July 2nd, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock, Rev. A.B.* officiating. Mr. Kimbrough was born in Harris County, Ga. Aug. 26th 1851 and moved to Talbotton in 1860. He had been a resident here since that time. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Mary Birdsong Little of Talbot County who died in 1893. Two daughters survive this union, Mrs. W.R. Bell, Atlanta and Mrs. W.N. McGehee of Washington, D.C. In 1907 he married Miss Sarah Holmes Leonard of Talbotton, who died several years ago. Mr. Kimbrough united with the Methodist church in early childhood and has been a steward in the Talbotton church for more than 50 years. He was secretary of the Sunday School for over 40 years. He was a prominent Talbot County farmer and while a member of a large family is survived by one brother, C.W. Kimbrough of Talbotton. He is survived by two daughters, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. *Note – the pastor’s last name isn’t given in the article.
