Mrs. Matthews, Talbotton

Mrs. Alice Beall Matthews, of Talbotton, Ga., died at the home of her brother, 
Mr. Thomas N. Beall, Sr., Sunday morning Feb. 18th.  Mrs. Matthews had been 
twice married: first to Mr. Dozier and later to Judge Matthews.  Before 
marriage she was Miss Alice Beall.  She was foremost in all charitable work in 
Talbotton and Talbot County, and also took active interest in the affairs of 
the U.D.C.  The Talbotton chapter was named for her, and the Alice Beall 
Matthews Chapter of the U.D.C. attended her funeral in a body.  She is survived 
by one brother, T.N. Beall, and one sister, Mrs. William Watt.
