She was born in Talbot County on the 15th of August, 1835, being seventy-five years and two months of age. The funeral was conducted Wednesday morning at her residence, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. She had been confined to her bed for fully two months before the final call came. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and had been for a number of years. She is survived by two sons, two daughters and two sisters. Mrs. Cameron was the relic of Mr. G.C. Cameron, who preceded her several years ago, the daughter of Mr. W.H. Feagin, Sr., and sister of Capt. W.H. Feagin, Jr., the lamented sheriff of this county. Her husband, Mr. G.C. Cameron, was the pioneer lathe tuner of this part of the country. Shortly after their marriage he converted the family spinning wheel into the motive power for running his home constructed lathe at his shop on Jefferson Street, between Lee and Jackson Street, where he manufactured bedsteads, tables, washstands, bureaus and chairs, many of which now adorn the homes of the early settlers. Truly a good woman has gone to her reward. – South Georgia Progress, Americus Mrs. Cameron was a sister of the lamented J.A. Cameron of this place. The funeral at Americus was attended by Mrs. H.J. Porter and Mr. Fay Boland, of Butler, near relatives of the deceased. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
