Talbot County Items
Condensed from the New Era

The remains of Mrs. Elizabeth Corley who died in Columbus the 26th ult., were 
brought to Talbot county and interred in the family burial ground Sunday the 
27th.  She was 89 years, 5 months and 22 days old.  For seventy years she had 
lived a consistent member of the Baptist church, fifty-one of which she was a 
member at Mt. Zion.  Forty-seven years ago she had a spell of sickness, her 
life was despaired of, and a burial robe was made to inter her in; she had kept 
this robe in good order and by her request was buried in it.  She was the 
mother of six children, four of whom survive her.  Mrs. Corley was the last 
living member that was in the constitution of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
