Talbot County Items
From The New Era

Died at his home in this county on Wednesday night the 4th inst., Mr. E.M. 
Murphy and on Thursday following his son, Jno. A. Murphy.  Both were victims of 
pneumonia resulting from lagrippe.  Mr. E.M. Murphy went to the war as a member 
of the 27th Georgia and served throughout the entire war in Col. Levi Smith’s 
regiment.  He was a good soldier, and his old comrades in arms will sympathize 
with his afflicted family in their bereavement.  His wife and daughter who have 
been critically ill with the same disease are said to be improving.
